The Space Report 2009 Wins Award of Excellence from Florida Print Awards
brandt ronat + company is proud to announce that The Space Report 2009: The Authoritative Guide to the Global Space Industry has been recognized at the “Florida Print Awards” with an Award of Excellence in the category of Environmentally Sound Materials for work submitted by the book’s printer, Southeastern Printing.
The Space Report 2009 is a 136-page, perfect-bound book that met the standards and responsible footprint certification requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
brandt ronat + company has served as the design/development team for the Space Foundation’s The Space Report produced annually since 2006, guiding the design and creative process of this comprehensive annual on the impact of the global space enterprise.
According to Marty Hauser, Vice President, Space Foundation Washington Operations Research and Analysis and The Space Report Program Manager, “We chose FSC accreditation over other forms of green certification because the organization is widely recognized and because we were able to find an FSC-accredited printer who could also meet our demands for quality, turnaround and price. These rules cover everything from forestry management and labor standards to the supply chain that ensures that the printer is using only paper stock that has been produced in accordance with FSC principles.”
The 22nd annual Printing Association of Florida’s “Florida Print Awards” is the state’s largest and most important printing competition. The competition promotes excellence in the industry and recognizes companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.
